I've been thinking. About the nanites.

[ She doesn't know why she bothers with the comm when half the time he's tucked away in the shadows, but it could be the one time he isn't that she decides to forgo it. ]

I can get into different information on the consoles, now; found out when I leaned on one at the right angle on accident. The pirates landed in a bay we didn't know anything about.

[He knows about her changed nanites. Had noticed nearly immediately, when she'd walked into the shuttle bay with red on her arm instead of black. CFO, head of the pack all official like now, but he doesn't know why or how, and the nanites rank high on his priorities regarding the ship.

This isn't a message he's going to ignore.]

[In the consoles, he means. Not corrupted beyond recognition, like he'd expect.]

Most of it is missing or corrupted, [ like the both of them had expected ] but there are full schematics of our shuttles and partials of others. There's also- it's glitchy, but it seems to be showing that there are shuttles in other areas of the ship.

[ She takes a breath. ]

Other, smaller bays. Just like our pirate friends found.

Could be ghosts.

[Mechanical ghosts, he means. The glitches. Or that it could be a ghost hunt, going looking for them.]

Could be. But I'm seeing two close enough to the passenger quarters that looking for them isn't a huge risk.
